COVERS
Wherever I Lay My Hat (That's My Home) : Recorded at Trackside Studios in Essex in October 2003 this was a Red Letter Days gift for my 40th birthday. This was my attempt at the Paul Young version of Marvin Gaye's song. I'm not entirely sure why I chose this song!
Heaven Tonight : I learned recently that Pete Way and Paul Chapman of Waysted died in August and June respectively. Their album Save Your Prayers is a favourite, so this is my attempt at a tribute.
Ballroom Blitz : The first alphabetic Cover Challenge I entered on The Fretboard forum. I think it was the second single I ever owned.
California Uber Alles : I first heard this years ago on the Johnnie Walker radio show, bought the single, and played it over and over.
Don't Wait For Me : Took a melancholy Thunder song and made it more melancholy.
Ever Fallen In Love : Took a punk anthem and turned it into a big band swing song.
Fortunate Son : A slightly hair metal version of the classic rock anthem.
Goldfinger : Rock version of the Bond theme.
Heartbreak Hotel : Grunge version of the Elvis song.
Ironic : More grunge version of the original.
Jailbreak : Reggae version of the Thin Lizzy original.
Killing Me Softly : Pop punk version of Smooth favourite.
Life Is A Highway : A bit of country rock and a Pixar tribute.
Moaning Lisa Smile : A bit of indie and no mini dress.
No Surprise : I am the next American Idol.
Oops I Did It Again : If Britney was done by Alice In Chains.
Psycho Girl : The song my ficticious wedding band trio never get to perform.
Radar Love : Driving song done by a non-driver.
Summertime Blues : EVH inspired RnR Classic.
Uncle Lloyd : A bit of Americana.
